My old dog is vomiting. Could barking or reptiles make him sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi I hope you can help me. My brother got a 13 or 14 years old Pomeranian he's now blaming me of going to his to see my dad when he's not home, making the old dog bark too much then vomit badly, after 29 hours I was there! I wonder if that could be possible please? His apartment is full of reptiles (about 50 snakes and lizards) and I could imagine salmonella is the actual cause of making the old dog sick. Please help.

There are many things that can make a dog sick, especially an older dog. I doubt it is from you not being there, the dog barking too much or the salmonella. It is more likely the dog has an underlying medical condition (like kidney or liver problems). The dog needs to be seen by a vet.
