Why does my dog have eye discharge? Is it worms or an infection?

Unfortunately, I can't tell from the photo. It looks like Neige has a lot of discharge in the eye and this is concerning for an infection. I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian to check out a possible eye infection and to look for any worms. I hope this helps.

    Even though a picture would help to determine the underlying cause of it, that is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. Soska had something like mucus in her eyes but it is large like that of us when we wake up but she had it more is this a sign she had worms or what?
A little mucousy discharge is not alarming. It is also not a sign of worms. If the mucus starts looking like pus or if she starts squinting her eyes or if the conjunctives turn red, then you should take her to your veterinarian for an eye exam. However if she gets a little mucousy eye discharge once in a while without those signs, it is nothing to worry about.

Hi, we have a 15-week-old German Shepherd mix. I noticed that both of her eyes are little bit red (I attach pictures below). She doesn't seem to have irritation or discharge. I'm not sure if it's a sign of infection? Thank you.
It can be very difficult to evaluate well from a photo online, but in these images the eyes do not appear excessively red to me. We can sometimes see a little irritation of the eyes of puppies when they are curious/sticking their faces into everything, particularly dirt or plants outside. If she has no discharge from the eyes and isn't squinting/rubbing the eyes, I would just continue to monitor the eyes closely. You can pick up a sterile eye wash from the pet store or your vet's office to rinse the eyes if you like. If they become more red, she is squinting/rubbing, or has excessive tears or yellow or green discharge then an exam by the vet is warranted.

My dog’s eye has been pink with discharge.
A pink eye with thick green or yellow discharge could indicate conjunctivitis or something stuck in the conjunctival sac (the tissue surrounding the inner eye). A pink eye with squinting and clear discharge (in your picture the discharge looks more clear), or cloudiness to the eye could be a sign of a scratch on the surface of the eye. I'd recommend having your veterinarian examine Dixie's eye. They can stain her eye to look for a scratch and can prescribe eye medications if needed.

What could be wrong with my dog’s eye?
That looks like it could be a string of the normal eye discharge, an actual cloth string or (less common in the United States) a worm. Use some sterile ophthalmic saline and put in 3-4 drops in her eye. Gently rub on the upper eye lid to try to dislodge the discharge. Try to wipe it out with a clean, dry cotton ball. If you cannot dislodge this object, have Lucy examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

It sounds as Bert is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.

My dog's eye has a developing a discharge. I've cleaned this away from his eye 3 times this evening.
Sounds like Louie has an eye infection. Any eye problem has to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Please have him seen by a vet first thing in the morning.

My dog has yellow green mucus coming out of her eyes. They don't seem to be bothering her. But I have to constantly wipe the mucus away. It just started this morning
That is pretty significant discharge that Nola has around her eyes. This is likely secondary to an infection (eye or upper respiratory) or even an allergy. It would be best to have Nola examined by a veterinarian because she may need medicated eye drops or even an oral antibiotic to treat the eyes. It's always better to have a dog seen if there are eye issues going on as it can progress to more serious issues quickly. You may use a sterile saline solution to rinse Nola's eyes but I don't think that will resolve the issue. So again, it's really the best idea to have Nola evaluated by your veterinarian. Possibly an eye infection that started in one dog and has now spread to two other dogs. Have a yellowish brown mucus discharge coming out. Red around the eye
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This may be due to something like an infectious conjunctivitis for example. I recommend that you have them evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They may be able to check for this and other possibilities and treat accordingly with anti-microbial medications. Good luck and have a great day!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lincoln. I do recommend that he sees his veterinarian. With his eye being red and having green discharge, he likely has an infection. This can be a simple infection or it could be the consequence of an underlying disease. For example, a scratch across the surface of the eye is known as a corneal ulcer. This is diagnosed by placing a drop of dye on the eye. There is a also condition known as dry eye where the body does not produce adequate eye. His veterinarian can measure his tear production. Finally, he could have a foreign object such as a piece of grass trapped under his third eyelid. The treatment varies between conditions and his veterinarian will decide based on his exam and eye tests. I hope this information helps!

My dog has discharge from his eyes and its watery and red
Jack is probably suffering from an eye infection, he probably caught it from another dog outside, you will need to take him to the vet to get the eyes checked, the vet will then prescribe an antibiotic eye drops, this should resolve the problem within a few days.
