My horse is limping and won't put weight on his back leg. What's next?

My horse is limping in his left back foot. I felt around and he is very sensitive in his fetlock joint. He will not put any weight on it and hates me touching it. He does not want to bend it. It is not swollen and there are no hot spots. Do you know what’s wrong? Is there anything I can do? Pet's info: Farm Animal | Horse | Male | neutered | 1000 lbs

You need to have a vet out there to check Phoenix. The vet needs to localize the lameness and take x-rays. If he is not putting weight on the leg it is usually either a hoof abscess or fracture of the coffin bone.
