My wife and I bought 3 adolescent medium rats from Petco around 2 weeks ago. All three of them had pneumonia and two of them were too sick for the medicine to work properly. Our brave survivor, Frankie, is recovering well and regaining her loving, inquisitive personality by the day. However, our dog opened the bedroom and broke her cage when we went for groceries earlier. She was hiding scared but physically healthy.
