My beagle keeps throwing up repeatedly. Should I take him to the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Male | neutered | 6 years and 3 months old | 52 lbs

Hello. My 5 year old beagle keeps throwing up. He ate his dinner 5 hours ago and was fine up till about 10-15 minutes ago and he has vomited 4 times in that time. Two weeks ago he was vomiting for a couple of days and mum wouldn't take him to the vet. he is keeping up his fluids

Hi, and thanks for your question. These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.     This sounds serious. It sounds like a fairly thorough diagnostic workup has been performed, but there might be some other tests like an abdominal ultrasound or even infectious disease testing that might reveal a cause. You may want to ask your vet about referral to an internal medicine specialist if there has not been a definitive diagnosis so far - they see the complicated cases and might have other ideas for diagnostics and treatment.
