My dog is aggressive towards my other dog over toys. Help!

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 6 days old | 10 lbs

Chanel is a “bully”, she never allows Coco to play with toys or even greet me, whenever he plays with a toy she snaps at him and takes the toy, it’s gotten to the point where Coco refuses to play unless Chanel is in her cage. There was this method online that has Chanel stay/sit when she’s approaching Coco to get a toy, and if she stays I reward them both with a treat but when I tell her to sit Coco thinks i’m teaching them tricks so he comes over and sits as well.

Aggression between dogs is often due to hormones so if you are not planning on breeding them it is best to have them spayed/neutered. Usually this will correct the problem. That being said, it could just be Chanel's personality, in which case, you should work with a professional dog trainer to get this behavior corrected.
