My baby bird's crop is swollen and not improving. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello, One of my exhibition baby have crop issue as seen in pic from last 7 days. So someone suggested me to takeout the air from crop through massaging and then right after fill crop with handfeed. So did this exercise from last 3 days but no improvement. So please suggest what should be the treatment of this issue. Thanks, Shahid

Thanks for reaching out about your bird and including photos. A crop infection with a yeast (Candida) is highly likely, but bacteria could also be a component. Without medication, recovery is unlikely. Supply heat support in the 80-85 F range for immune support. Schedule a veterinary visit for prescription of medications. Good luck.
