Rescue dog with three classes under his belt including canine good citizen. Home is Dad, Mom, adult daughter and teenage son. Mom: I am dog's favorite person, supposedly, but he doesn't cuddle with me like everyone else. He likes it in my husband's and my bedroom but he gets under the bed on my side and stays there... Unless my husband gets in bed, then he'll come out from under the bed to cuddle with him. When I call him over to cuddle with me it's back under the bed. What's wrong??

Unfortunately, it's impossible to know why Rocket is exhibiting this behavior. Dogs can make some odd associations. The following article is about hugging dogs but it has some tips that could be applied to your situation: https://www.petcoach.co/article/do-dogs-like-to-be-hugged/ The key is to encourage any behavior that is positive, be slow, be patient and never force the behavior. If Rocket is uncomfortable and you force him, he could create a negative association. I hope this helps.
