Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 14 years old | 6.5 lbs

Cat after complete ear amputation(due to recurrence of scc),prescribed meloxicam, amoxycycline, buprenorphine buccaly. She ate a bit the evening after operation, next day eaten and drank, third day only licked a small amount of sauce(two drugs are fluids and amoksycycline she gets with syringe dissolved in water,so she got a tiny bit of fluids).she's clicking her teeth/chattering sometimes.it's a 2-days holiday,so vet appointment is tuesday(monday 3a.m.now)-should I wait?she's behaving quite normal

It sounds like Z has not eaten today, and but that she ate a small amount yesterday so at this point I think you are probably okay to wait. The teeth chattering could be a sign of pain so you should definitely continue with the buprenorphine. If she seems to be in significant pain or if she is very weak or lethargic I'd recommend trying to see an emergency veterinarian. You could try offering some canned food mixed with water via syringe, but don't force the food if she is not interested.
