Why is my puppy peeing, whining, and sensitive after 12-week shots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 27 days old | 5 lbs

My dog had his 12 week shots 2 days ago! I have noticed that he is peeing a lot and whining! He doesn’t want anyone to hold or touch him which is very unlike him! He also received a interceptor for tape worms and a flea& tick chew

Puppies can occasionally develop urinary tract infections, or it is possible that Ron is painful somewhere. Vaccines can cause pain at the injection site but usually it is worst a day after the vaccines and improves with time. I wouldn't think the Interceptor or Flea and tick medication would be related. I'd recommend making an appointment to have Ron examined by your veterinarian.
