Charlie had a scab on his back that I felt a few weeks after I adopted him. It looked fine, a week or so later he ran under the metal frame bed and the scab came off. It's been about 2 weeks and the hair is back, and I feel a scab forming. I was just wondering if it looks normal? I did not put anything on it. I did use a cold compress on it when the scab came off , it was pink but not bleeding. Doesn't seem to bother him when getting petted, brushed. His behavior is normal also.

A persistent scab is abnormal because the body should heal it (just like you and me). Scabs that don't go away after a few weeks are suspicious for allergies, skin mites or ringworm (which humans can get). I recommend to have Charlie examined by the veterinarian and potentially have some minor tests run to look for parasites. I hope this helps.

I would just leave it alone. A scab means that the body is healing a wound, it isn't a bad thing. As long as there is no discharge, foul odor, and Snoops's appetite and energy level are back to normal, no worries!
