My dog is yelping and inactive after his rabies shot. What's wrong?

My dog Arlo, a 16 month old Chihuahua, hasn’t been active really at all today and any time he jumps on the couch or gets held he yelps. He had his rabies shot yesterday if that matters. I just don’t like seeing him hurting if there is anyway to help! Thank you.

Arlo might have a little pain at his injection site, or it’s possible that he has some back or neck pain. If you’re not sure exactly where he’s painful I’d recommend making an appointment to see your vet. If you think it’s the injection site you could apply a warm compress and contact your vet to get a prescription a safe pain medication.
