My dog vomited, is restless. What should I feed him or give for gas?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 1 month old

He had lunch around 3pm and vomit around 8.30pm now he is restless also tries to sleep at first he was sleeping with just head up in the air now slowly he lie down his head and sleeping so may I know what it could be ? Shall I give him his meal or chicken broth ? Or I should not give him his regular meal ? He also took burb three times so if it is gas should I give him Pantocid pill or not ?

Poor Bruno. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Do not give him any human medications.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. I'm not sure what time it is now for you, but I would recommend withholding food from Bruno for about 8 hours since his vomiting episode. Always allow him access to water. Then, I recommend introducing a bland diet such as boiled chicken or hamburger and rice, in a ratio of 2 parts rice to 1 part meat. You can offer Bruno small meals 3 times a day to help rest his stomach and intestines. This may help him to not vomit and help his stools firm up. If he continues to vomit multiple times, or his diarrhea persists, I would have him evaluated by a veterinarian. I hope this is helpful!

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Bruno boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

I suggest you withhold food from him for 8-12 hours to give him stomach a rest. Then you can start back feeding him some bland food like the rice. I don't recommend ham because it can be high in fat. It is best to use boiled chicken. Scrambled eggs would also be OK to give. No butter, oil or spices on the food. Feed small meals every 3-4 hours instead of one or two bigger meals. If he continues to vomit he should then be seen by your vet.
