My senior pet hates phosphorus binder. How little can I mix it?

Hi regarding the phosphorus binder that I mix into Tony’s senior canned food... how well does it have to be mixed in? I notice the more I mix it up, the more the texture of the food changes and he doesn’t like this so much. If I only fold over the food once or twice to hide the powder he likes that better and eats more but is it as effective this way? Thx. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 20 years old | 9.5 lbs

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tony. The most important thing is that he eats. If he will eat better with the powder folded in, then I would recommend doing it that way. Typically bloodwork is monitored when a patient is taking a phosphate binder to test his levels. This will let you know if he is taking the correct amount and if it is working for him.
