What's wrong with my senior dog? Mouth bleeding, lump, paw licking.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 3 months old | 45 lbs

My dog is a ten year old English bulldog. He has slowed down a lot. He's began bleeding from his mouth and has a lump under his neck. He constantly licks his paws. I'm afraid to think what is wrong with him. He doesn't seem to gain weight at all.

Bleeding from the mouth could be a sign of dental disease or something more serious, like a tumor in the mouth. The lump under the neck could be a lymph node, abscess or tumor. Dogs will often lick their paws secondary to allergies or arthritis pain. It definitely sounds like you should make an appointment with your vet to have Beef examined and to discuss all of your concerns.
