My iguana is weak, cold, and has yellow spots. Does he need a vet?

Pet's info: Reptile | Iguana | Male

Hello. My iguana is having some difficulty moving his arms and legs which started yesterday. He had some heavy breathing last night which seems to have subsided for the most part today. He ate a little bit this morning and seems a little more awake today than he did yesterday but he has a few yellow splotches on his legs and arms. When he was taken out of his tank yesterday, he was pretty cold to the touch but has since warmed up. I’m not sure if I should be concerned about taking him to a vet

Thanks for reaching out about Guan. If he is having difficulty using his limbs, a veterinary visit is highly recommended. Metabolic bone disease can result in clinical signs from weakness to fractures. Environmental temperatures should be in the 90-100 under the basking site and at the lowest 70s at night, therefore they should never feel cold. See your local veterinarian as soon as possible. Good luck.
