Dog vomiting and diarrhea: Is it a bug, and can I wait to see the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 21 lbs

My dog had vomited 2 days ago , fed her plain white rice 3 hours after the vomiting had subsided . She was still eating drinking playing normally . Yesterday she was totally fine and normal, today she had 2 lots of diharrea about 4 hours apart then she threw up once about an hour ago . She is still drinking and acting normal . My other dog had diharrea 2 days ago once . Is this just a bug going around ? I can’t get to the vet today can I take her tomorrow ?

It could just be a GI illness or Coco may have eaten something rotten. It really is best she sees a vet now, but if you cannot get her into a vet today, it can wait until tomorrow as long as she is drinking and acting normally. If she starts vomiting water, stops drinking water, or becomes very lethargic, she has to see a vet right away.

Yes, I would take Coco into the vet. It's concerning that he's been vomiting for over 24 hours now, and he could be suffering from a severe GI illness, may have parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated, or could have eaten something rotten. I am sorry to hear about Coco. I would recommend a trip to the vet today. Given his symptoms, his age, and the contents of his vomit we worry very much about an gastrointestinal foreign body/obstruction. The vet can do an x-ray to see if there is any evidence of material left in the GI tract. If there is, they may give him fluids and laxative to see if it can pass or may recommend surgery based on how severe the problem appears. If no evidence of obstruction is present he may need symptomatic treatment for his upset stomach such as anti-nausea medication and antacids.

Poor guy. As long as Oscar is relatively stable (normal vitals- no fever, breathing normal, nice pink gums, mentation normal), then you can wait the few hours for the vet to open up. He mostly sounds like he is having a severe GI upset right now. GI upset can be caused by something he ate, or can be an early indicator of another disease process altogether. The vet will run the necessary tests to determine what is the most likely cause and get him started on much needed medications as soon as possible.

She is getting diarrhea, with cough vomiting, please tell me some medicine, or home remedies, and please tell how to use this medicine!!
It sounds as Daisy is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

You can keep giving him ice or small amounts of water as long as he is not vomiting. The diarrhea and vomiting can be from something he ate or an infection he acquired somewhere. You can try chicken broth or pedialyte to help keep him hydrated and try boiled chicken and rice to see if he will eat. If he is nauseated he likely will not be interested. If the vomiting continues or you notice blood in his stool, he should be seen by a vet as soon as possible to check for dehydration or an obstruction. if the vomiting seems under control and ther bus no change by morning then he should go to a vet tomorrow.

You can wait until 4 pm today since she is acting normal. If that changes or something else occurs before then, then I would recommend going to the veterinarian earlier. I would also bring a stool sample with you to the vet when you go. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

After 3 days of liquid diarrhea and now vomiting as well, it’s time to take Cupid to the vet. She may just have an upset stomach from eating bark or other debris in your backyard, some parasites, a gastrointestinal virus, or other medical issue. Diarrhea can result in dehydration, even though she is still eating and drinking normally. I hope she feels better soon!

Unfortunately this sounds like Coco could be suffering from a parvovirus infection, which would be an emergency and she would need to be seen by a veterinarian right away. This is especially warranted if Coco has not hat any parvo-vaccinations yet or did not complete the course of vaccinations. In any case severe diarrhea, no matter what it is caused by, can lead to severe dehydration, which can also be life-threatening. Please ring your veterinarian right away for an appointment today,

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Kiki! The concern I have for Kiki is how long and how much vomiting and diarrhea she has had. Dehydration is a real concern for a dog her size. It is best that she gets seen by your Vet today. They can decide if she needs blood work or X-rays. They can at least give her fluids, antacids, something to stop the vomiting and medication for her diarrhea. Causes of vomiting and diarrhea are: dietary indiscretion (eating something gross), intestinal parasites, toxins, metabolic conditions (liver, kidney disease), viral and or bacterial infections. If you want to try her at home, I would withhold food for 12-24 hours and water for 6 hours. In 6 hours offer ice cubes or very small amounts of water. If she stops vomiting then tomorrow start "sip and nibble" of a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice as small frequent meals. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs of body wait until stools are normal. If she continues to vomit while being fasted or when fo

I woke up this morning to my dog farting and having liquid poops all over the house, and now she is throwing up.
I recommend getting your pet in to be seen by your veterinarian right away. Continued vomiting and diarrhea together are very concerning and can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance as well as low blood sugar. She might have eaten something that either disagreed with her or something that has gotten stuck somewhere in her gastrointestinal tract. She could be sore from a hidden injury you are unaware of, she could have been exposed to some sort of toxin or irritant in her environment or this could be early signs of another condition or disease process. Your pet may need IV fluids to help support his/her system and to be fasted at the same time in order to give the gut a rest. Your vet can do an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan.
