My ferret feels warm after my cold. Should I take her to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Ferret | Female | spayed | 2 months old

My ferret is about 3 months old I have this bronchitis/lung/cold thing going on and I've held her multiple times. She feels warm but she's playful and normal she isn't showing any symptoms yet. Should I be concerned cuz she feels warm? Should I assume I gotta take her in just because I held her and I'm sick?

Thanks for reaching out about Cocoa. Ferrets are susceptible to influenza so monitor her health for now. If becomes ill, a veterinary visit early in the process is more likely to respond to therapy. You could always purchase a thermometer and take her temperature. If concerned, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.
