My new dog pulls away when I try to pet her head. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Female | unspayed | 3 months and 21 days old | 2.1 lbs

Hi I am new to having an inside dog and trying to train her so she like backs away when I go to pet her on the head and i dont know how to train or do what i need to to prevent her from backing away when I go to pet her is it something I did or?

Hi there. Many dogs don't like to be petted on top of the head, since it can feel threatening for them. I would suggest petting her on the chest or under the chin instead. Over time, as she becomes more comfortable around you, she may be more willing to allow you to pet her head.
