Hi, unfortunately last night the family dog passed away. It was a Male German Shepard, 2 years old in fairly good health. He had seemed off all night and then he had explosive diarrhoea as I’d went upstairs to grab a towel he stumbled his way into the hallway, collapsed at the bottom of the stairs and took his final few breaths. We couldn’t afford an autopsy so I was just hoping you could give me some idea of what possibly could have happened for a tiny bit of closure. Thanks

First off, I'm sorry that you lost your dog so suddenly. Please accept my condolences for your loss. I'm only guessing here, but if he wasn't vaccinated, it could have been parvo that caused him to pass. It could also be that he had a foreign body, a severe GI illness, or if he was fed a raw diet, the bacteria from the raw diet could have made him extremely sick. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
