My german shepherd has this large red and swollen area in her armpit. I just noticed it today. Could it be something serious or a skin allergy? She has been very itchy in her belly and chest area. Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | 5 months and 7 days old | 45 lbs

This looks like a typical skin allergy. I would discuss with your vet about getting Pepper on a flea prevention (if not already) and an allergy medication. Flea allergies are quite common in pets this young, so this would be my first suspicion. If this isn't the cause, then a contact allergy is likely.
