It could be an eye infection or it could be Cage has injured his eye. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. Any eye problem has to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss.

Oh that does look really bad. Unfortunately this cannot be treated at home and leaving this untreated can lead to vision loss. This is an emergency, and Ziggy has to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.

If he is squinting, then the eye is causing discomfort. This warrants an exam with your veterinarian to diagnose corneal injury or infection. Your vet will probably use a special stain to check for scratches or ulcers. These usually can't be seen by the naked eye. If Baymax is pawing or rubbing at it, place an e-collar (cone) on him until he sees the doctor.

Okay so my dog just recently started having these problems with his eye and you can tell it’s bothering him because he keeps pawing at it. I was wondering what this could be?
His eye looks a little swollen, and it could be from an injury to the eye or an eye infection. You need to take him into a vet for this promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Until you can get him into the vet, put an Ecollar on him to keep him from pawing it further, as he could scratch his cornea and cause more damage. Yes, it could be that Fadden has an eye infection. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Fadden into a vet now, who can diagnose that he does have an eye infection and can treat him for it.
