My dog is coughing white foam after a new dental bone. Is she okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 8 years and 10 months old | 52 lbs

My dog is coughing up white foam. Is drinking water and eating ok. She had a new dental bone last night, so was wondering if that is contributing. Is she ok?

She could certainly have irriation from the bone she ate, especially if she choked on it. Keep an eye on her and if the coughing continues for more than 48 hrs, then she should be seen by your vet for a suspected upper airway infection. As long as she is still active, eating well and using the bathroom normal, it is ok to monitor for now. I hope that Lily's cough resolves soon! Best wishes and take care. : )
