When should my 1-month-old puppy deworm & vaccinate, and see a vet?

I have mixed Labrador pitbull puppy which is exactly 1 month today when should I deworm him and start vaccinations. Can I register him with a vet too

Great questions! You can deworm Bruno now, but he won’t be old enough for his first vaccines until he is six weeks of age. You can register him with a vet now, and take him in to get deworming medication.

Congratulations on your new puppy. At his young age, he can go to the veterinarian for a wellness exam to make sure everything looks okay and he could receive his first deworming treatment. Most veterinarians would recommend waiting to give the first vaccination at 6-7 weeks. If you have any concerns about him including diet due to his very young age, I would take him right away for his first exam and deworming, if he is eating well with no issues, you could wait and take him at 6 weeks for the deworming and vaccine to be done at the same time. My puppy is 4 weeks old. When should I start vaccinations and give him a dewormer medication?
Vaccines can start around 6-7 weeks of age and should be boosted every 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age. Discuss an appropriate vaccination protocol based on Snoopy's lifestyle and risk of exposure with your veterinarian. Snoopy should be kept away from public places and dogs of unknown vaccine status until about 2 weeks after his last round of vaccines. Deworming can start now and should be done every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age. Transition to a monthly preventative afterwards. You can submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to confirm infection, identify the parasite or to confirm clearance.

Hello. A puppy should be examined for general health & the presence of intestinal parasites by your veterinarian now. It is never a good idea to just deworm because you may be missing some important parasites like coccidia. Vaccinations are usually started at 8 weeks of age & boostered at 12 & 16 weeks of age. Hi there! Since Mocha is six weeks old, he should go ahead and start his vaccinations now. He will need a DAPP vaccine (for distemper, adenovirus, parvo, and parainfluenza) now - this vaccine will also need to be boostered every 3 weeks until he is 16 weeks or older. He will also need a rabies vaccine anytime after 12 weeks of age. Depending on his lifestyle and what diseases are prevalent in your area, he may also need to be vaccinated against Bordetelle (kennel cough), leptospirosis, and/or Lyme disease. Your veterinarian can discuss the risks of these illnesses in your area and help you make this decision. And yes, he should also be dewormed. You can use a broad-spectrum dewormer like Strongid or Panacur from the pet store, or get a prescription dewormer from your vet's office if you prefer.

Hi, we adopted a 2/3 month old abandoned female puppy and would like to know when to deworm and to do vaccinations etc?
Congratulations on your new puppy. Deworming susually start at around 4-6 weeks of age and vaccines start at around 8 weeks so Coco is a little behind schedule and should get these done right away. I would recommend scheduling an appt with your local vet as soon as possible and to not expose Coco to any unvaccinated pets or to the outside until she is fully vaccinated. Best wishes!

Bulli will need a DAPP vaccine as soon as possible (distemper, adenovirus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza) - this protects against parvo and distemper, which are the two most common serious illnesses we see in puppies this age. If Bulli is 3 months old now, this vaccine will need to be boostered in 4 weeks. He should also have a Bordetella vaccine (kennel cough), and a rabies vaccine in 4 weeks also. For deworming, he should be dewormed once now and again in 14 days to get rid of all life stages of parasites that may be present. It's recommended to have a fecal sample checked by your vet after doing this, to ensure that no further deworming is needed. Costs will very quite a bit from one area to another (and even between clinics in the same area), so you will need to call a local vet clinic near you for an accurate estimate of prices.

You can repeat the deworm after 2 weeks. If there was a heavy worm burden then it may not have gotten them all. Also, make sure your dewormer has praziquantel to cover tapeworms--they get these from eating a flea. Her vaccines will be due every 3 weeks until she is 16 weeks old. A veterinarian has to administer the rabies vaccines typically between 12-16 weeks of age depending on your state laws and the size of the puppy. You vet can also do a health exam to make sure everything is normal at this time.

If this puppy was born on April 13th, then she is too young to have gotten any vaccines. She will be five weeks of age when you get her, and puppies are not old enough to be first vaccinated until they are six to eight weeks of age. I would make an appointment with a vet for a week after you get her to start her vaccines. She will not be fully vaccinated until she has three series of her DHPPi combination shot (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza) each given four weeks apart. Until that time, she should not be allowed in public, do not take her for walks, and only have her potty in your backyard. She will be susceptible to catching parvo and distemper until she is fully vaccinated, and since those are so deadly, you want to avoid it. The vet will go over the vaccine schedule with you, and discuss getting her rabies vaccines as well (that is required by law). The vet will also talk with you about deworming, flea treatment, and heartworm treatment. Make sure to get her a h

What medicine should i use for deworming my labrador 1 month puppy
I would recommend looking for a pyrantel pamoate product labeled for use in a 1 month old puppy. This dewormer only treats roundworms and hookworms, so if you are suspicious of other types of parasites, a vet should perform a fecal exam to determine which parasites are present.
