My dog has an open wound. Vet is closed. Can I use Vetericyn?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 13 years and 11 months old | 10 lbs

We discovered a big open wound on Rj's left rear hip it's not bleeding doesn't seem infected vet isn't open right now should we treat with Vetericyn until we can get him to the vet Monday?

As long as he is not painful is able to walk on it, and is showing no signs of fever or poor appetite then yes vetericyn will help to keep it clean. It is quite possible however that stitching will not be possible in a wound that is no longer fresh so a immediate check would be recommended for speedy healing especially with his age
