Is my dog's red mouth an infection or allergy? Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 11 days old | 25 lbs

It looks slightly red around my dog's mouth. It might also be from the lighting too, but should I take her to the vet to get it checked at?

From the photo, Puddin’s mouth does look red and I am suspicious of an infection or an allergic reaction. I recommend to protect the area from any trauma by having her wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. I also recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian to get this cleared up. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
