Why is my cat bleeding from her anus and has blood on her poop?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 5 months old | 4.7 lbs

Hi, my cat went to poop right now and there was quite a bit of blood ON the poop not inside, and there is also blood dripping from her anus, I tried to take a picture of the poop but she’d covered it, I took a picture of her bum after she cleaned it, there is stil some blood. HELP!!!

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Toto. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian today. Bright red blood typically comes from the colon. She could have inflammation that has resulted in blood and possibly mucus on the stool. Her stool will need to be tested to rule out an intestinal infection. If she has very hard or dry stool such as seen with constipation, this can also cause bleeding. Her veterinarian will examine her and determine how best to help this from happening again.
