Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered

There is blood covering my cats pupil we have been to the vet and they prescribed antibiotics and drops for a week and they said the most likely cause was uveitis we visited the vets again and they referred us to an ophthalmologist I just want a heads up to what this is so I can have an idea of what it could be. The vets mentioned mucus and puss in his eye as well as redness and slight swelling.

I'm sorry but it is very difficult to assess eye problems with regular photos. The use of an ophthalmoscope, slit lamp, etc to look into the eye is best. It sounds like that has been done and an ophthalmologist exam would be best. All I think I see in this photo is a dark area above the pupil that would worry me about iris melanoma but again, I can't really tell much from a photo. There are too many possibilities as to what could be going on. An ophthalmologist will be able to help better as this is their area of expertise. Sorry we can't be of more help, I hope you understand. Best wishes.
