Do 9-month-old dogs tend to sleep a lot? An hour or two after playing my dog goes back to sleep. How many hours do they need to sleep a day at this age? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 17 days old

At such young age dogs tend to spend a lot of times sleeping and commonly alternate intense activity, like playing, with many hours of sleep. 12 hours a day sleeping is not uncommon at all. If there are no other signs a part from what you reported, there is nothing to be worried about at this stage.
