My kitten ate a plastic window cling. Is it a vet emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 4 months and 11 days old | 4 lbs

My kitten ate a plastic holiday window cling, she already swallowed it before I could take it out of her mouth. What can I do now? Should I take her to the vet or try and wait for it to pass?

This can cause gastrointestinal inflammation and possibly some obstructions. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to rule out these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
