My dog has a swollen, lazy eye and is sneezing. When to see vet?

My peekaboo Appears to have a swollen , lazy right eye ,I just noticed it tonight when taking a video of her her right eye keeps closing on its own there’s no green stuff coming out of it it’s not red and she’s been sneezing a lot lately. Could she have something in her eye or could it be an allergy? How long should I wait before I take her to the vet

You need to take Heaven into the vet first thing in the morning. Any eye problem needs to be checked out promptly by a vet, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. She could have something in her eye or may have injured it. It could also be due to allergies.

It could be an infection, allergic reaction, or secondary to trauma. Since it is so swollen, it would be best to have him examined and treated by a vet as soon as possible. You could take him to an emergency clinic in your area for treatment. Otherwise, if he is acting normal and doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort then call your vet first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment.

If you can get to another vet more quickly, or even an emergency vet that would be best. Clouding of the eye may be due to an infection, illness or injury and waiting to have it treated could lead to a worsening of symptoms or even loss of the eye. Attempting to treat at home may worsen the problem or cause excessive irritation. It is best to seek veterinary care ASAP.

This is an emergency, your vet should see you right away, if he refuses you have to take him to another vet that will see him today. cloudiness of the eye is a very serious symptom, there are several eye condition that could cause that but it is important to start the treatment urgently, otherwise permanent eye damage could occur.

It could be that Lovey is suffering from an allergic reaction causing these swollen bumps around his body. It could be an environmental allergy causing these bumps, but without seeing him in person, I can't say for certain. I am concerned he now has a swollen eye, as he could have injured his eye or have an eye infection. To answer your question, yes definitely take him into the vet today. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it is considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. My dogs upper eyelid is swollen pretty good. Must've just happened in the past few hours. Do I need to take her to the er vet or wait it out?
Poor Sassy! That is very swollen. If it is just the eyelid that is affected, it should be fine to wait until tomorrow to take her to the vet, but if anything gets worse overnight, I would take her right in. If you see signs such as squinting, redness, drainage from the eye, or a cloudiness in the clear part of the eye, I would take her in tonight. Injuries to the eyeball can be very serious and get worse very quickly. I hope this helps and that Sassy gets better very soon!

I have a shih tzu terrier mixed two year old dog. Lately her eyes have been watery and she has been sneezing. What should I do?
I would have Lily seen by a vet. It could be that she is suffering from a respiratory infection or could have allergies. Her symptoms are something that needs to be treated, but in order for her to be treated properly, the cause of them has to be diagnosed. Once the vet makes the diagnosis, they can prescribe medication for her. I would take her into the vet tomorrow. I hope this helps!

I would take her into the ER vet today, any eye problem should be considered an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would not give her any drops. It may be the wrong treatment for her eye problem, and you are correct that you don't want to complicate treatment or accidentally harm her. Having her seen by an ER vet is best, and they can prescribe the correct treatment. Best of luck with her, she is simply lovely! I had a female Golden Retriever that I lost to cancer two years ago, and she was seriously the best dog I ever owned. I hope this helps!

This could be an eye infection (and, looking at the photo the eye lids are very swollen there is a discharge and your dog is squinting because it is painful) caused either by bacteria, inflammation, or possibly even mechanical damage caused by ingrown hairs , or eye lashes. Eye problems are always emergencies. You will need to take Summer to a veterinarian or Pet ER for an exam now, please.
