Why are my cat's gums and tongue purple/blue? Is it serious?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 6 months old

Hi,my cat's gums and tongue are purple since few days, especially the tongue which is almost completely blue(dark blue), she's acting normal, eating normal, playful but still I'm concerned about this color,what could be,thank you

It would be easier to help you if you could post some photos. It is very difficult to give advice without seeing it. There is nothing I can think of that would cause the tongue and gums to be purple that is not a serious condition. If the cat is acting otherwise normally then I doubt it is anything serious.
