My cat needs CD food for crystals. How can I afford yearly vet tests?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 years and 5 months old | 10 lbs

i was told my cat needs to be on CD food for her urine crystals. now, a year later my vet is saying i need to pay $300 to have her go in and have a urine test in order to renew the prescription. but they told me she has to be on it for life. how can i find a cheaper way to keep her on this food? because i cant afford $300 a year to keep her on this food

I'm sorry Rose is having problems with urinary crystals! Unfortunately because it is a prescription food, that is how you are going to have to get it. The good news is that the urine test should only be once a year, so if you save $10 or $20 from each paycheck, by the time the urine test comes up, you can have saved enough to afford it.
