My dog ate white chocolate Hershey kisses and foil. Is it toxic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Female | spayed | 4 years old | 85 lbs

My 85lb dog ate about 7oz of Candy cane Hershey kisses. Aluminum foil and all! What do I do? Idk how long ago it was because my husband locked her out of our bedroom which he NEVER does and I woke up to let her in and saw the empty bag that was almost full when I left it. She never eats human food, and has never had chocolate. Does it matter that it’s white chocolate?

It does matter that it is white chocolate - fortunately white chocolate is not toxic! It could cause some mild stomach upset so if Xina vomits or develops diarrhea I’d recommend seeing your vet. Otherwise no treatment is required.
