Hamster died while I was on vacation. How to know its time of death?

Hi , I just went for a holiday on the 4th of December , Today is the day I come back from my holiday , when I came home and went to see my hamster cage , he was dead . How do I know which day he died ? Pet's info: Small Animal | Hamster | Male

Unfortunately it s very difficult to establish exactly the day of the death, even though a post-mortem examination can give you a quite rough indication of it.
