My Chihuahua is throwing up, stomach gurgling, and won't eat.

Hi I noticed my 7 year old Chihuahua's stomach was gurgling like crazy last night. He has been acting normal but threw up twice this evening. He didn't eat dinner tonight. His stomach is still gurgling and his vomit was very slimey and had treats he had earlier and grass in it.

Poor Willie. It sounds like he is sick. In the morning, feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues overnight, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, he stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet immediately.

It's possible Willie may have gotten into something causing his digestive upset, or may have an object stuck causing him to vomit. A bland diet of boiled rice and chicken can sometimes help, however, since he has been vomiting over multiple days/multiple times and now is refusing to eat, it would be best to seek veterinary care to rule out any more serious issues.

Poor Fudge! I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.

My chihuahua has had loose stool for 3 days. She threw up her food yesterday and today. I don't know what is wrong.
Poor Alaina! She could have an infection, parasite, upset stomach from something she ate, pancreatitis, etc. If she is otherwise acting normal, then you could withhold food for the day and see if the vomiting and diarrhea resolves. If so, then feed a small amount of a bland diet, boiled chicken and white rice, this afternoon and see how she does. Continue feeding the bland diet for a few days and then slowly transition back to her old food. If the vomiting/diarrhea continues then she needs to be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can run lab-work to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to treat. Hope she feels better soon.

Throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, bowel obstruction, the weather, food change, stress, etc. Fast Peggy for 12 hours and then put her on bland food for a day or two, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to her regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the vomiting withina day or if the vomiting increases, or if she gets lethargic, he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection or a bowel obstruction going on.

This isn't an emergency situation in my book yet, but there is some concern indeed, she is obviously not feeling well, probably due to a gastrointestinal problem, it could be a simple infection but it could also be something more serious such as a foreign body. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Aga boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating, take her to the vet to get treatment.

Poor Chato doesn’t feel well! If your little guy is not eating and is vomiting, then he must go to the vet. At the very least he needs meds to settle his stomach down, but he may need X-ray or blood work to see what is happening. He could have a foreign body in his intestines, be sick from eating something over New Years, just have an upset stomach or a number of other things. You will need a vet to help figure things out and get him feeling better. You could try some plain boiled chicken breast mixed with plain white cooked rice and feed him a small amount of that to see if he will eat it. If he can’t keep this bland diet down, he has to to go to the vet ASAP.
