My dog is vomiting, bloody diarrhea, weak. Is it an emergency?

Pet's info: Dog | Chorkie | Male | neutered | 5 lbs

What can I do for my chorkie Buddy. He has been throwing up phlegm off and on all day. Not eating or drinking most of the day. Then tried to drink water threw it up. Tried again and pooped out runny blood. He is only just laying around not very active. Gave him a 1/4 of a Benadryl around noon it is now midnight. Tried giving him Gatorade also. What else can u do trying get him to his vet asap but may not be able to till Monday morning. It is now Sunday morning at midnight. been shaking & weak.

I'm not sure why you gave Buddy Benadryl. That's for allergic reactions in dogs, not vomiting and bloody diarrhea. He sounds very sick, and it's extremely serious he can't even keep down water. He has to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Oh no, poor Murphy! This bloody diarrhea could be due to intestinal worms, GI ulcers, trauma to the GI tract, a foreign body, eating something toxic, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It's quite concerning that he has been having diarrhea for over a week and there has been blood present in it frequently. Murphy has to see a vet now for this. 2 days ago my dog was stung by a bee and she was in pretty bad shape I took her to emergency and they gave her 2 shots and told me to give her 1/4 Benadryl every 8hrs for 3 days. She been fine since Yesterday we left her in the car for less than 10 m
Poor Paisley! The good news in this situation is that the blood is very red mraning it has likely come from further down the GI tract. Blood in faeces can occur for numerous reasons but usually it is to do with diaorrohea and straining. I suspect Paisley has developed inflammation in the large or small intestine. This may be to do with the bee sting, but also could be a reaction to the benadryl. I imagine they may have given her a steroid jag which can cause GI upset in sensitive guts. I would stop the benadryl and starve her for 12 hours then feed plain chicken and rice to give her guts a break. If the diarrohea or blood is not improved within 24 hours it would be best to see the vet again.

My dog won't eat or drink anything and has been getting sick. Tonight I notice he is bleeding from him bum. I'm not to sure what to do I called a emergency vet line and the woman only laughed.
I am so sorry that your pet is not only ill but that you were brushed off by the emergency person when seeking help. That is quite unheard of also disturbing that someone would laugh at your pets misfortune. I am not sure your pets breed or age, but you should call another emergency vet in the area and get him seen right away. In fact if they are open, I would not wait and just take him in to be seen. He either has a really bad case of stress related hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, a coagulation disorder, pancreatitis, or a toxin exposure as the cause of his symptoms. I hope your furry friend gets the treatment he deserves quickly and is able to make a full recovery. Best of luck!

My pet Daisy has bloody diarrhea, and is vomiting slimy white foam and cant hold down anything she eats or drinks. What do i do? Are there any free vet clinics ???
Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sorry to hear about Daisy. Contact your local rescue groups, humane societies, low-cost clinics in your area and seek help. Persistent vomiting, bloody diarrhea and lack of appetite are emergent clinic signs due to fluid/electrolyte losses. This leads to dehydration, weakness, and further downward deterioration unless the vomiting stops and the appetite returns. I would advise taking Daisy to your vet as soon as possible to have her evaluated. Many causes are possible including intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion (eating things dogs aren't supposed to), other dietary problems, gastrointestinal inflammation/infection from various sources, toxin exposure, foreign body ingestion, GI ulceration, side effects from drugs or products used, or even problems outside of the gut including pancreatitis, liver/kidney problems, among many others. hello my name is Heather and my puppies name is Scout. She wasn't feeling well today and was vomiting and had some diarrhea. That stopped for about 4 hours and now she is having a hard time breathing and is vomiting blood and having bloody diarrhea.
Hello. I am sorry Scout isn't feeling well. It sounds like Scout is very very sick and even though it is a long way from an emergency clinic I recommend you going there. Vomiting blood and having bloody diarrhea can be life-threatening, and can because caused by many issues, including parvo-virus. Without care, and quickly, Scout could get very sick or even die as this can lead to sepsis (severe whole body infection) or severe dehydration. If it is impossible to get Scout to a vet tonight (try calling around to see if a clinic in your area does out of hours care), then try to get Scout to eat or drink anything and get Scout to the vet ASAP in the morning. My puppy 4 months old Labrador He is suffering from vomiting and loose motion... Yesterday he has bleeding in stool... It is around 7 days that he is getting DNS & 2 more fluid.. i am worried what should i do...
It seems as Scooby is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious he will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Hi, and thanks for your question. These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed. Unfortunately a veterinary check up is required as no home made treatment will be effective.
