Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Lizard | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 17 days old

Takydromus sexlineatus not eating and very thin. my other one is in perfect health, so it is not husbandry. I have gotten her to lick meal worm guts off of her nose, but she is very lethargic, not licking water like normal, etc. and after getting her to take some meal worm yesterday I woke up to fin black liquid excrement with all small bit of uric acid. what does black liquid poop mean? I fear theres nothing I can do for her.

Thanks for reaching out about Zig. Try offering a meat Gerber's baby food via a syringe, but does sound like you need some veterinary assistance. Young animals often have intestinal parasites or infections, metabolic disorders, malnutrition, and other causes. Check environmental parameters and correct problems. These lizards should have a warm area in the 90-100 F range, but not allowed to get below 70 F at night. Just because one is doing well, doesn't mean it is not affected. Good luck.
