Hello there! My puppy is having a difficult time with his leash, he’s absolutely terrified of it and freaks out when I put it on him. I’m a first time pet owner and am not sure how to go about getting him comfortable with it, I don’t want him too think I’m trying too hurt him because I’m absolutely not. I wasn’t sure if maybe someone could help me and give me some tips on how too help with this issue? Thank you!

Try to make it into a fun experience. Offer a treat as you get the leash near him at first, or if you need to you can start by rewarding him while you simply hold his collar. Once he’s distracted with a treat hook the leash on and then let him drag it around the house. Once Snoopy can do all of this without getting nervous you can move on to leash walking him outdoors.
