My puppy's poop has white spots and hair. Is twice a day normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 6 days old | 12 lbs

My dog used to poop right after he ate. Now I'm noticing that he just poops twice a day after long period of hours. Lile 8 or 10. Aside from human hair dangling once in a while. He just has been pooping frequently. Here are some photos of white stains or spots. He did go to the vet 3 months ago to get dewormed and stuff so I dont think that's it. Thank you for answering!

White discoloration of the stools indicates that your pet is not getting enough water intake. I would recommend either adding in canned wet food to Sal's diet or getting a pet water fountain to encourage more water intake. Hopefully this takes care of the issue. If not, then a rechk at your vet is recommended to do some baseline bloodwork and make sure all his values are normal. He is an older puppy now, so pooping twice daily is normal at this age. I would howevere make sure you put up all brushes and keep the house free of things he can ingest that can potentially cause a blockage. I hope that Sal does well moving forward. Best of luck and take care! : )
