Why is there blood in my 12-week-old puppy's poop? Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 16 days old | 5 lbs

Hi I have a jac chi puppy 12 weeks old I got him last week and I have worked and fled him he has his injection next week but the first day I got him I saw a bit of blood in his poo I spoke to pdsa I gave him dry food boiled chicken and I have seen blood a couple of times today is ur serious cos he eats and drinks well and runs around most of the day can u advise me please thanks

Albert is so cute! It could be intestinal worms causing the blood in his poop. He may need another dose of the medication to kill them. It usually takes at least two deworming treatments each given two weeks apart to kill all the worms. I would also have him checked out by a vet for this to be safe. I hope this helps!
