Could antibiotics make my German Shepherd puppy throw up and gurgle?

What is wrong with my German Shepherd puppy? Her throat moves like a pulse and her stomach makes gurgling noises and she throws up. The vet gave us medication for parasites and she's currently on antibiotics.

If Lolli is currently on antibiotics, she could be sick from that. A side effect of antibiotics is GI upset. Try giving her the antibiotics with boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice to see if that helps. If it doesn't, have her seen by her vet.

These signs could be due to the recent use of antibiotics. Sometimes a bland diet such as white rice/boiled chicken helps but other times an antibiotic specific for colon issues is needed. You could try calling your veterinarian and discussing is trying a bland diet is ok or, depending on the antibiotic used, if they think further treatment is needed.

Spirocerca Lupi is a parasite that can be found in dogs in Egypt, it causes a mass in the esophagus which causes chronic regurgitation, which might be what Misa is suffering from. it could also be a gastrointestinal infection, possibly parvo if she is not vaccinated. you need to take her to the vet ASAP in order to get that checked and treated.

I recommend to call your veterinarian. Puppies can vomit for many reasons but something like a vaccine reaction may be the cause and this needs to be treated. Your vet will make a recommendation based upon her exam yesterday. Just so you know, German Shepherds need to eat diets formulated for large breed puppies. This helps to ensure that they grow and develop properly. I recommend Royal Canin German Shepherd Puppy. It will ensure even, normal growth and is very easy to digest because the GSD can be prone to an upset stomach. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Hello, You can try to syringe her water to keep her hydrated and rub syrup on her gums to prevent low blood sugar. However, Olie must see a veterinarian to determine the cause of vomiting and receive proper treatment. Typically, vomiting in a puppy her age is secondary to parasites, a virus, or even an intestinal obstruction.

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Luna is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Luna reevaluated since she has not improved to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start her on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your girl!

It sounds as Jackey is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

German Shepherd Dogs are prone to a variety of stomach and gut problems including exocrine pancreatitis, IBD, food allergies, plus , like every dog, can get gastro-intestinal infections. You can take her off food for about 12 hrs then feed her bland food such as boiled rice and boneless boiled chicken in small portions and divided over several small feeds /day. If she does not start to eat or cannot keep her food in , then you will need to take her to your vet for an exam and appropriate medications.

It is possible that she could be having a sensitivity to the antibiotic or this could be another complication to her upset tummy. I would make sure you are feeding her a complete meal then wait 15-20 minutes befor giving her the antibiotics. Also you may want to try feeding her only plain chicken (no bones) and rice as This is bland and easy on the tummy for recovery. If This doesn’t help then I would talk to your vet about a recheck. Your vet may want to give her an anti-nausea medicine, change her antibiotics or take X-rays if indicated. I hope this helps!

Do not give her the antibiotics without directions to do so from your veterinarian. Diarrhea and throwing up can have many causes. It is basically a problem with the stomach and intestines caused by a food over sensitivity, eating something that does not agree with the dog, intestinal parasites, bacterial infection, viral infection, the weather, food change, stress, etc.  I would fast Sheba for 24 hours and then put her on bland food for two days, such as boiled white rice and boiled white boneless chicken meat, fed in small quantities over several feeds and then transition back to her regular food slowly over a few days. If this does not clear up the diarrhea or if the vomiting increases, or if she gets lethargic, she needs to see a veterinarian for an exam as there may be something more serious such as an infection going on.

These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is immediately essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately.
