Noticed a lump on my dog's eye. Is it a stye? Should I call the vet?

Hi! So I just got home and noticed this on my dogs eye. She doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort but it’s very strange because I don’t recall noticing it last night. I was thinking she might’ve scratched herself by accident however there is no blood. Does this look to be something I should be worried about and worth taking her to the vet for? (I’ve cleaned her eye gunk since this photo)

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Frankie. That looks like some kind of lump, and it could be it's a stye. I'd try applying a warm compress to it five minutes a day a couple times a day to see if that helps open it up and drain. If this does not help, it gets bigger, starts bleeding or has pus, or it starts to bother her, then I would have her seen by a vet for it. I hope this helps!

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Lakota and for providing a picture, it's very helpful. It could be a bug bite but it could be a stye. Take a warm compress, and apply it to the area for five minutes at a time a couple of times a day to see if that helps it drain. If it gets bigger, starts to bother her, doesn't go down in a day or two, or appears infected, have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

Hi there! My new puppy has this bump on her lower eye, i’m not sure if it could be a stye or if it is something more serious. It seems to have gotten a bit larger over the past couple days or so.
Hi there, I'm concerned at the size and redness of the bump, this might be a stye or something that similar that is infected. I'd recommend taking her to her veterinarian when possible this week to have her assessed and treated. She may need eye drops or oral medications if it's a deep infection. I hope that's helpful. Hi, and thanks for your question. That is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. At this stage it is not possible to rule out that a small mass is developing (stye is possible, but a small benign tumor should be considered as well). A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well. Hello, my puppy Odin recently had this small little ball near his eye. It almost looks like a sty. I attached some photos. Is this something I should be concerned about. Do I let it go away or take him to vet ? He’s acting normal. And I can’t recall
It is possible that Odin has a stye. You can try putting a warm compress on it a couple of times a day for 5-15 minutes to see if that helps with it. If it does, you can clean out the discharge from the stye with saline solution. If this doesn't help, then I would take him into the vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

My dog has a stye on his eye lid and it's bleeding. I cleaned it with a paper towel but I'm not sure if I should do anything else.
Although a picture of the injury would help to give you a specific answer, I would strongly recommend to have the eye checked by your local vet as soon as possible to confirm diagnosis and have the best treatment options. Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops may be needed.

Thanks for visiting Boop by Petco. This tiny pigmented area could be just a normal change of the skin and is not concerning at this time. I would definitely recommend just monitoring this and if it becomes raised, it is likely a Meibomian gland cyst as you mentioned. Surgical removal can be considered at that time, since these glands can grow quite large in some pets and cause irritation more than anything. Pomeranian female, 3yrs.old(adopted) has some swelling on bottom outer eyelid. Seen vet this week, given an opthalmic ointment,but does not seem to do anything. Almost looks like a stye on a human.
Dogs can get styes like humans, and you can try pressing a warm compress on this area for five to 10 minutes at a time a couple of times a day. If Belle does have a stye, this warm compress will encourage it to drain. Should this not help with the swelling after 24 hours, then I would have Belle seen by a vet on Monday.

My 12 year old dachshund cassie possible has a stye in her eye. It doesn’t seem to bother her. She is leaving it alone. Opinions?
You can try a warm compress on the area to see if that helps it drain and go down. You can apply it a couple of times a day for five minutes at a time. If it doesn't go away, bothers Cassie, and/or gets bigger, have her seen by a vet.

Ronald has what looks like a pimple or stye on his eyelid. Hoping it's not the start of an infection. It doesn't seem to be hurting him. Any ideas/advice?
It could be local infection or inflammation. Monitor for rapid change or growth. If he is pawing at it or rubbing, place an e-collar (cone) on him and have it examined in person by your veterinarian.
