My puppy is limping after play. Should I be worried or see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 4 days old | 30 lbs

My 5 month old Pitbull Terrier started a slight limp to his front right hand should I be worried , he has not had any falls or accidents , just a little rough play at the dog park ... I don't know if it will fix it self or does he need to go see the vet????

If it just started you can let her rest for a few days with minimal walking and minimal physical exercise, if it does not improve within 3-4 days you will have to take him to the vet in order to get it checked and treated, he might need pain killers for a few days. if the vet think it's something more serious such as a fracture, joint injury or foreign body, he might recommend to have an xray done as well.
