My rat is depressed and sick after her cage mate died. What to do?

After her cage mates death,Dambo became very depressed and has loss of appetite, she also has upper respiratory infection which we are trying to resolve. I do not know what to do to cure her depression, could you please suggest me any tips to make her happier? Or euthanasia is an option..? Her cage mate passed away two days ago, it's very hard for me and her to process this. I can afford to get another rat.. Pet's info: Small Animal | Rat | Female

Thanks for reaching out about Dambo. This might not be depression, but illness due to the respiratory infection. Systemic antibiotics are necessary and a veterinary visit required for prescription. Over the counter treatments or home remedies are unreliable and will delay proper treatment. Good luck.
