My cat has a sudden eye lesion. Is it ringworm? What causes green glow?

Hi! So my cat within 2 hours on Sunday went from having a clean face to having a quarter sized lesion by his eye. His vet sent in hair for ringworm testing, but is it common for ringworm to show up so fast like that? Testing hasn’t come back yet from the lab, but the incoming hairs on the lesion glow green under black light. Would anything else cause that? Thank you

It would be much easier for us to give you advice if we could see the lesion. Can you post again with some photos? There are many different skin issues that can look similar so it's hard to say what could be causing the problem for sure. That is why the testing is recommended. A positive result under the black light is a good indicator that it is ringworm.
