Cat on meds for frequent urination. When will she show improvement?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 3 years and 11 months old | 9.4 lbs

Had to take my 4 yo spayed female to ER Vet last night. In and out of litter box, no observed urination. Cat was given Convenia and Buprinex via IM. Lymph nodes normal, abdomen normal non painful. No masses. She is eating and drinking this morning. Purring and acting normal. However, she is still going to the litter box more than normal but not nearly as often as before and doesn't seem 2 b as stressed. When should we see a difference when it comes to the medication she was given?

Usually at least 48hours are needed to see a substantial improvement with the treatment that was given. As far as you are reporting there is already an improvement though, so resolution of the signs it is expected.
