My Yorkie vomits bile, has diarrhea after drinking. What to do?

3 yr old Yorkie vomited bile 38 hrs ago now for the last 12 hours has had diarrhea no blood noted . Eats or drinks water produces diarrhea within in 20 mins

Poppy sounds pretty bad off and if he had vomiting and now diarrhea, the time for home remedies has passed and he has to see a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question about Milktea. Poor boy! It looks like there is some hair in his vomit. I can give you a home remedy to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Oreo needs to be examined by the veterinarian today. Any blood in the stool or vomit always require a veterinarian visit because this can indicate something serious like a foreign object in the stomach (although other causes are possible). Additionally, diarrhea that continues beyond 24 hours often has bacterial shifts in the gut that will make matters worse regardless of the initial cause. Make sure to bring in a sample of fresh stool. The doctor will check him for parasites and bacterial over growth. Other diagnostics may also be recommended pending the history and physical exam. Many times a bland diet can help and then a slow, gradual introduction to the normal food can be done. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. I hope Oreo starts feeling better quickly! Please feel free to post any additional questions.

Oh no, that looks like a lot of blood in the pictures you sent me. The bright red color of it is concerning to me, and the best thing to do is take her to your nearest vet. In the meantime, withhold food but make sure Pepper has access to plenty of water. Keep her inside and warm, and keep her as calm as possible. Please take her into a vet right away. I recommend taking Poppy into an ER clinic. It sounds like she is getting dehydrated and likely needs fluids and other medication to make her feel better. She could have a stomach infection, pancreas issues or even kidney problems. Some cases need lab tests, some xrays, others both, to find out exactly what is wrong. Once the veterinarian diagnoses Poppy they can review a treatment plan to help her feel better.

I'm sorry to hear that you and Ollie have been sick. Yes, we certainly worry about small dogs getting dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea. If the vomiting has resolved, you could consider mixing water (or low sodium chicken broth) in with his food to make sure he doesn't get dehydrated. If Ollie is not eating, continues to vomit, doesn't feel well, has blood in his diarrhea or the diarrhea continues, I would recommend having your vet evaluate him. I hope that was helpful! I have a yorkie pup. She's not a year old yet but will be in November. She is a very hyper dog but starting yesterday all she does is lay around, vomit, and she refuses to eat. I was wondering what I could do to help her and get her back to normal.
Poor Ollie! These are very concerning signs. If she's acting lethargic, vomiting, and not eating, I would be worried that something is seriously wrong - especially if this has been going on since yesterday with no improvement. I'm afraid this is really not a situation for home remedies - she really needs to see a vet right away to find out what the problem is. Some common possible causes of these symptoms in a young dog like Ollie would include parvo (if she isn't fully vaccinated), an intestinal obstruction due to something she swallowed, or ingestion of something toxic. She will quickly become dehydrated if she's vomiting and can't keep anything down, so there's really nothing you can do at home to help her - I would strongly recommend taking her to an emergency vet today. The vet can do blood work and x-rays if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment right away depending on what is found.

It sounds as Loki t is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Poor Skipper! The color of his vomit looks dark, and it could be due to his dog food that has been broken down in the stomach but not yet fully digested. If he eats his poop, which many dogs do, the color could also be due to that. Given that he has no other symptoms, I'm comfortable giving you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Bentley. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian again as his symptoms are worrisome. He should have x-rays of his belly to rule out an intestinal obstruction. He should also have bloodwork to test him for pancreatitis as this is very common in his breed. Based on these results, an updated treatment plan can be made. I hope this information helps!
