My dog, a Chihuahua, has been acting strange today. He seems like he needs to poop, but isn’t able to and is more shaky lately

Poor Arlo. This is concerning and it sounds like he could be painful if he's shaky. Try giving him a teaspoon of canned pumpkin puree with his food to see if that helps. If it doesn't, have him seen by a vet.

Poor Chibs! If he's not going #2 as routinely as normal, he could be constipated. This would also cause a decrease in appetite and he could shake from being uncomfortable from it. I think having him seen by a vet tomorrow is a good idea, but in the meantime, make sure he has access to plenty of fresh water and give him a tablespoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) mixed in with his food to see if it helps. Good luck at the vet tomorrow :-)
