Can I bring new puppies home if my other dogs are parvo vaccinated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 20 lbs

I am currently in the process of adopting 2 boxer puppies. I am currently concerned about my puppies catching parvo from my other dogs. I have a couple other dogs that are have been vaccinated but am worried about a change of my puppy getting parvo. Is it safe to bring them home even with the other dogs?

If your adult dogs are vaccinated and the puppies have started their vaccination series there is minimal risk of getting parvovirus from your dogs. Keeping your puppies away from other outside dogs is recommended until two weeks after their last puppy vaccination. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for your puppies.
